Chelsea is in a real drop of form afetr defeated away 2-0 by Aston Villa in last matchday in EPL, and after a 1-1 draw home with the very modest NK Rosenborg in Champions League Group Stage. Jose Mourinho has also quit his job here yesterday, so they are low moral too.
The only possible outcome for us is a Manchester victory, but the betting sites don't think so, they have very good odds for Manchester.

Champions League Groups: Arsenal FC vs Sevilla FC

Date:
Group stage - 19 September 2007 20:45 (CET) - Arsenal Stadium - London
Preddiction: Arsenal to win (1)
Odds:
-Gamebookers in Decimal: 2.10
-Bet-at-home in Decimal: 2.00
Status: Won 3:0

The verdict:

Arsenal - Sevilla announces to be an interesting game, within two balanced teams, but Arsenal is in a great shape in Premier League, holding the 1st place with 13 points in 5 matches.Fc Sevilla are second in Spain Primera with 6 points in two matches.

Actual situation:

Arsenal FC manager Arsène Wenger is predicting an open game when two of Europe's form teams jostle for early Group H supremacy in north London. Top of the Premier League after five matches and buoyed by Saturday's 3-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur FC, the Gunners embark on a tenth consecutive UEFA Champions League campaign against Sevilla FC with their tails up.

Severe test
Wenger, however, expects to be severely tested by opponents returning to Europe's élite club competition after a 50-year absence having won the UEFA Cup in each of the last two seasons. "It's a psychological advantage to be top of the Premier League," said the 57-year-old, set to become Arsenal's longest-serving manager after signing on until 2011. "We're doing well and we're confident, but Sevilla are also doing well. Both teams try to go forward when they win the ball so it should be a good game. Sevilla are technically good, well balanced and they're not scared to play away from home."

'Genuine contenders'
Wenger dismissed the notion Sevilla's lack of experience could hold them back, describing Juande Ramos's side as "one of several genuine contenders to win the competition". He added: "Sevilla have joined Real Madrid [CF], [FC] Barcelona and Valencia [CF as the leading clubs] in Spain. When you grow, it's important to take things step by step and succeeding in the UEFA Cup is good preparation for the Champions League."

Henry absence
Arsenal boast far greater know-how in this tournament but the 2006 finalists may feel some apprehension as they begin a European challenge without Thierry Henry for the first time since 1998/99. Yet Wenger, who will be missing the injured Jens Lehmann, William Gallas and Emmanuel Eboué, remains confident, saying: "When a world-class player like Thierry goes, other players take more responsibility and that speeds up the blossoming of some individuals and pushes them to take more initiative. The team's dynamic is very good."

Positive spiral
Sevilla have been on a positive spiral for the last two years and prepared for their group stage debut in style, brushing RC Recreativo de Huelva aside 4-1 on Sunday. Ramos, who has collected five trophies since becoming coach in 2005, is relishing the opportunity to test himself at the highest level, saying: "After two great years in the UEFA Cup, we're ready to make the step up. The competitions are very different and Arsenal represent a tough start but if we approach the games in the same way, we can do well."

Puerta remembered
Ramos is deprived of Javi Navarro and Adriano but will not adopt a defensive strategy, adding: "Arsenal and Sevilla usually score a lot and I expect an attractive game. A draw would not be bad given Arsenal are the top-seeded team, but a victory would be fantastic." Should Sevilla win, the players will dedicate the result to their former team-mate Antonio Puerta who died last month. "The best way to remember Puerta is by winning games," the coach said. "We'll work hard to get as many victories as possible in this competition because Puerta would dearly have loved to play in it."

Last season in Chl:
-Arsenal
: Arsenal were making their ninth successive attempt at winning the UEFA Champions League. They reached the group stage by defeating NK Dinamo Zagreb in the third qualifying round. The English side and rivals FC Porto both recorded three victories and two draws from their six outings in Group G - to finish ahead of PFC CSKA Moskva and Hamburger SV - but Arsenal topped the standings due to their better head-to-head record against their Portuguese opponents. Arsenal lost 2-1 over two legs to PSV Eindhoven in the first knockout round.
-Sevilla: The UEFA Cup holders began by brushing aside Atromitos FC 6-1 over two legs in the first round. In the group stage, a 0-0 draw at FC Slovan Liberec was followed by defeats of SC Braga (2-0) and Grasshopper-Club (4-0) before a 2-1 home defeat by Group C winners AZ Alkmaar. In the Round of 32, FC Steaua Bucureşti were dispatched 3-0 on aggregate but it was harder work in the Round of 16 with a 5-4 triumph against FC Shakhtar Donetsk, with extra time needed in the second leg. Tottenham Hotspur FC were beaten 4-3 on aggregate in the last eight before Spanish rivals CA Osasuna lost 2-1 over two legs in the semi-finals. More familiar opposition waited in the final with RCD Espanyol pushing Sevilla to a penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 draw in Glasgow. Yet the holders were not to be denied and triumphed 3-1 on spot-kicks.

Champions League Groups: Slavia Prag - Steaua Bucuresti

Date: Group stage - 19 September 2007 20:45 (CET) -
Evzena Rošickéh-Prague
Preddiction: Draw (X)
Odds:
-
Gamebookers in Decimal: 3.20
-Bet-at-home in Decimal: 3.20

Status: Lost 2:1

The verdict:

Slavia Prag - Steaua Bucuresti announces to be an interesting game, within two balanced teams.

Actual situation:
Having eclipsed Ajax in the third qualifying round with two wins (2-1,1-0), Slavia must now show off against another former European title-holder in Steaua.
With skipper Mirel Radoi and summer signing Mihaita Plesan both long-term injury victims, Florin Lovin and Ovidiu Petre should underpin the visitors in midfield. Steaua's main threat ought to come from Nicolae Dică, who has scored three Liga 1 goals this term in addition to his strike in the 4-2 aggregate defeat of Belarussian champions FC BATE Borisov in the third qualifying round.
Last season in Chl:
-Slavia:
Slavia began in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round and dispatched FK Karvan Evlakh of Azerbaijan 2-0 on aggregate. However, they were eliminated in the first round by the same margin at the hands of English club Tottenham Hotspur FC.
-Steaua: Steaua overcame NK Gorica (agg: 5-0) and R. Standard de Liège (agg: 4-3) in the second and third qualifying rounds respectively to take their place in the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time since 1996/97. By finishing third in Group E, behind Olympique Lyonnais and Real Madrid CF but ahead of FC Dynamo Kyiv, Steaua transferred to the UEFA Cup. They were unfortunate to come up against holders and eventual winners Sevilla FC in the Round of 32, losing 3-0 on aggregate.
UEFA Champions League (group stage to final only)
• Biggest win
1-4: FC Dynamo Kyiv v FC Steaua Bucureşti
13.09.2006, UEFA Champions League group stage
